Bilingualism Day

I apologize for the long delay. I also haven't posted pictures as I wanted. My laptop died so I'm a bit lost without it. I'm in Yaounde again this year on Superbowl Sunday so we're going to a party at the Marine House. The game starts at midnight here.

Bilingualism Week 2008 was a big success at the GHS Bokito. The English Club played a few games of volleyball & soccer against other clubs (EC won!). Then we had an interesting conference on the topic "Is Cameroon a bilingual country?" with several professors participating. In the end we decided only the buildings in Cameroon are bilingual because the signs at government ministries are in English & French. Cameroonian citizens, for the most part, are not bilingual. On Friday we had cultural activities, which unfortunately were cut short by inter-class finals.

Nothing else of much interest has been happening here. The Africa Cup of Nations is being held in Ghana right now. Cameroon is playing in the quarter-finals tomorrow. Because of the matches the power has been really stable!
