Another Quick Update

I hadn't written anything at post for the blog so I feel a bit guilty. I'll write up this quick update just to let people know how things are going.

The first term of the school year ended today. The students received their report cards and were released for Christmas break. I wasn't there. Thursday was a Muslim holiday so I came to Yaounde early in order to get some errands finished today. I have to admit, after all the work of filling in report cards & grade registers I'm glad I'll be finished soon. It is tedious! The English Club has begun preparing for Bilingualism Day. I hope this year is more successful than last year.

I picked up TONS of packages this time and I want to thank everyone who sent me stuff or wrote me a letter. Christmas came early this year! I've tried to reply to everyone.

As for me, I'm traveling to the Southwest province for my colleague's wedding. I'm excited to celebrate with her and to see a new city. After the festivities I'll travel to the West province for Christmas and then we're on the train up North. I'm excited to see it again. I had a really nice time with my Mom and hope to see more things. I'm not sure if I'll check email before we go North, so I wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

Next year this time I'll be at home, suffering through winter. Six months left to go!

Quick update

This post is just to catch everyone up on my comings and goings. I'm in Yaounde for a long weekend and have enjoyed the break. I really needed to get out of Bokito.

Thanksgiving was a success! Ben roasted chickens over a spit. Susanna baked biscuits. Ashely made mashed potatoes. I chopped stuff. It was team effort and it tasted great. I had a good time. Still have no definite plans for Christmas because my counterpart is getting married on December 23, so that throws things off.

I had lots of letters & packages waiting for me in the PC mail room. Thanks to everyone who sent me stuff.
